Soulcalibur 6 is heading to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One later this year. So far, Bandai Namco has confirmed eight characters for the game’s roster: returning fighters Ivy, Zasalamel, Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Xianghua and Kilik, as well as Soulcalibur newcomer Grøh.
Zasalamel, meanwhile, made his debut in SoulCalibur III and, based on the game play trailer, his Kafziel scythe looks like it’s still just as devastating at mid-to-close range. As with Ivy, Bandai Namco has opted to provide a brief overview of his story as a whole, instead of his motivations in the new game.
Zasalamel possess high fighting skill with his death scythes. Zasalamel also possess high magic abilities and could master most spells after seeing them used once. It is almost impossible to truly kill Zasalamel, as whenever he dies his soul will be reborn in a new body with all of his previous bodies traits and memories
Ivy Valentine makes her comeback wielding the tricksy Ivy Blade, which has the ability to switch between a solid sword or a barbed whip. She’s still on a quest for revenge and hopes to destroy the evil sword at the centre of the game’s story.
Ivy is considered evil by many due to her Machiavellian philosophy and her appearance. She only wanted to acquire Soul Calibur by any means to sever her bond with Soul Edge. When facing her opponents, she spites them with dramatic words and she takes advantage of her unique weapon, which she invented. Beneath her cold demeanor is a heart that wants freedom from a cursed life that will do whatever it takes to be free. Overall, she is a neutrally-aligned character.
